Precision CNC Laser Cutting Up to 5′ x 10′
At the center of the shop is a Mitsubishi 4kW CNC laser with a 5-foot by 10-foot cutting bed. It cuts carbon steel up to 3/4 inch thick, stainless steel up to 1/2 inch, and aluminum up to 3/8 inch, holding a precision of plus or minus .005 inch. That combination of size and accuracy means brackets, gussets, base plates, and full panel layouts can be nested and cut from a single sheet, reducing both material waste and the secondary operations a part needs before assembly.
For engineers and buyers comparing quotes, that tolerance number matters. Parts cut to five thousandths fit the way the drawing says they should.
A 140-Ton Amada Press Brake for 10-Foot Forming
Cutting a flat blank is only half the job. Elite Welding & Fabrication runs an Amada CNC press brake rated at 140 tons with a 10-foot forming length, capable of bending material up to 1/2 inch depending on the length of the bend. Long enclosure panels, channel sections, and formed housings are produced in-house rather than farmed out to a second vendor, which is often where lead times quietly stretch by a week or more. Forming in the same shop that cuts and welds the part also lets operators adjust bend allowances in real time.
Laser Welding for Clean, Low-Distortion Joints
The newest capability on the floor is laser welding, and it changes what is possible on thin material. A laser weld concentrates energy into a very narrow area, which produces a deep, consistent joint while leaving a much smaller heat-affected zone than conventional processes. Less heat going into the part means less warping, less pulling on flat panels, and far less time spent straightening a piece after it comes off the table.
It also travels faster. On sheet metal enclosures, stainless housings, and thin aluminum assemblies, laser welding lays down a tight, cosmetically clean bead that often needs little or no grinding before finishing. For parts headed to powder coat or staying visible in the finished product, that saves a full step and shows up in the quoted price.
None of this replaces MIG, TIG, and stick welding. Heavy structural work and repair jobs still call for proven conventional processes. Laser welding simply lets the team match the process to the part instead of forcing every job through the same machine.
